After Samar Singh, his son Rawal Ratan Singh sat on the throne of Chittor.
Ratna Singh's queen Padmini (Padmavati) was the daughter of King Gandharvasen of Sinhaldweep. It is believed that Ratnasimha was told about Padmini by Gandharvasen's pet parrot Hiraman, which Ratnasimha bought from a Brahmin.
Rawal Ratna Singh married Padmini after living in Sinhala Island for 12 years in the guise of a Yogi. (According to Janshruti) Alauddin Khilji was told about the beauty of Padmini by exiled Raghav Chetan from Chittor, so that Alauddin Khilji set out in 1303 AD to get Padmini.
I attacked Chittor. When Alauddin Khilji's army besieged Chittor fort for 8 months but could not win the impregnable fort, Khilji made Ratna Singh prisoner by trickery.
GORA & BADAL RAJPUT SARDAR/CHIEFTAIN : -
Gora and Badal, who looked like uncle and brother in Padumini's relationship, freed Ratan Singh by sending Rajput warriors disguised as female slaves in palanquins.
1303 AD In the fierce battle, under the leadership of Ratna Singh, Rajput warriors including Gora and Badal did saffron and Rajput queens under the leadership of Padmini did Jauhar. This is called the 'First Saka of Chittor'.
After the victory over Chittor, the fort was handed over to Khizr Khan and named it 'Khizabad'.
After some time Maldev Chauhan (Jalore) was handed over the rule of Chittor in place of Khizr Khan.
Alauddin Khilji's Chittor campaign was accompanied by the famous historian 'Amir Khusro'.
